Law enforcement Explorering is a program administered by the Hollister Police Department, in conujunctions with the Boy Scouts of America-Learning For Life Program for youth ages 14-20.

The Explorers of the Hollister Police Department (HPD) Explorer Program are youth from around the Hollister area interested in a career in law enforcement. Explorers receive mentoring and training in several areas of police work and the criminal justice system. The training occurs year around and requires full involvement from the Explorer. An Explorer's training ranges from hands-on application, formal lesson plans, to Explorer based academy attendance. Explorers also donate their time back to the community of Hollsiter by participating in community service activities, public events, and peer sponsorship. All the activities and events that Explorers participate in are only achieved by fundraising, sponsor support, and donations.

Explorers gain confidence, discipline, and guadiance needed to work in the public service field. They are also better prepared when continuing on to attend a police training facility. Many of today's Officers received the same start in other Explorer programs.
